Construction Laborer HDD ITS Land Improvement - 1.0 Des Moines, IA Job Details Full-time $18 - $25 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Horizontal drilling Excavator Outdoor work experience Heavy equipment operation CDL A Driver's License Construction experience Backhoe operation Vac truck Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Construction Laborer to support our Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) operations. In this role, you will assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling equipment, prepare job sites, and ensure safe and efficient work practices. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in underground utility installation and grow with a team of industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the setup and breakdown of drilling equipment and job sites Dig trenches and potholes by hand or with machinery to expose utilities Operate hand tools and small machinery safely and efficiently Support drill operators with locating, mud mixing, and pipe handling Maintain clean and organized work areas Follow all safety regulations and company procedures Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to job sites Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment Communicate effectively with crew members, foremen, and supervisors
Requirements:
Prior construction or underground utility experience preferred Familiarity with HDD processes or equipment is a plus Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods Valid driver's license (CDL a plus) Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed Why Join Us?
