Job Description

Gem State Staffing in Caldwell is currently recruiting dedicated, hard-working Raven Crew Laborers to join our team. This role supports specialized trenchless utility infrastructure rehabilitation and protective coating applications—specifically focusing on Raven lining systems for manholes, lift stations, and pipeline structures. You will work alongside experienced technicians preparing concrete and metal surfaces, staging specialty equipment, and applying high-performance industrial coatings. Key Responsibilities Assist in pressure washing, abrasive blasting, patching, and prepping concrete/substrate surfaces for Raven epoxy coating application. Stage spray rigs, hoses, plural-component pumps, ventilation blowers, and safety equipment at active utility job sites. Assist the lead applicator with material mixing, thickness checks, cleanup, and site restoration. Set up traffic control devices, barricades, and signage to maintain a secure job site perimeter. Maintain, clean, and organize trucks, trailers, spray equipment, and safety gear daily. Qualifications & Requirements Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation (clean driving record preferred). Previous experience in underground utility work, concrete/masonry prep, industrial coatings/painting, or heavy construction is a plus (willing to train motivated candidates). Ability to work in confined spaces (manholes, vaults, chambers) and handle outdoor weather conditions. Physical capability to lift up to 50-75 lbs repeatedly, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Strong commitment to workplace safety and active team communication. Ability to travel for out-of-town work (Pacific Northwest). Road trips are usually 7-10 days on, 4 days off.
