Job Description
MUST apply through the City of Edwardsville's website to be considered www.cityofedwardsville.com/HR Performs general maintenance, repair and upkeep of all Parks grounds and buildings. Completes various installation projects as assigned. Operates a variety of equipment to complete tasks as assigned. 6-month probationary/training period for which the rate of pay is $25.72. Once training is completed the hourly rate will adjust to $27.07. Medical/Dental/Vision are paid 100% for the employee, 75% paid for the family. Paid Holiday, Vacation, and Tuition Reimbursement. Position open until filled.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Repair, maintain and perform improvements to all grounds, buildings, structures, equipment and other amenities within the jurisdiction of the Parks and Recreation Department. 2. Clean and remove trash, litter and debris at all properties assigned. Clean, sanitize, restock and conduct general maintenance of all comfort stations and Parks buildings. 3. Sand, scrape, scrub, remove rust and paint as well as other items involving building and equipment repair and maintenance. 4. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and parking areas as assigned. 5. Drive, operate and maintain motorized equipment and vehicles used in the routine maintenance of Parks properties, building and amenities, including but not limited to: light and medium duty trucks, ATV's, chain saws, air compressors, battery chargers, power washers, generators, vacuums and other equipment as required for efficient care of equipment and properties. 6. Conduct manual digging, grading, blading, raking, planting, trimming, mulching and other duties related to landscaping as assigned. 7. Minor routine utilization of mechanic's tools for maintenance of power tools, equipment, buildings and amenities. 8.Make the following minor repairs:
Plumbing:
improvements and installations including comfort station fixtures and appliances, drinking fountains, decorative fountains and waterfalls, pumps, drain valves and other plumbing related equipment as neededElectrical:
improvements and installations including circuits, fixtures and appliances 9.Initiate and complete:
- Park construction projects including fence installation, concrete sidewalks, footings and pads, construction framing and finishing of minor renovations
- Landscaping installation
- Playground equipment installation 10.
