General Laborer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Laborer to join our cemetery monument business. This position involves assisting with the installation, maintenance, and transportation of cemetery monuments and headstones. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physical labor, including lifting heavy materials and using power tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the creation and installation of headstones, monuments, and memorials. Assist with engraving and finishing tasks. Prepare gravesites for monument placement, including digging, leveling, and setting foundations. Load, transport, and unload monuments and materials safely. Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery (such as hoists, drills, and cutting tools). Always follow safety guidelines and procedures. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient and precise installations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the shop and at job sites.

Requirements:

Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs) regularly. Ability to read a tape measure. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Experience with hand and power tools (training provided if necessary). Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred. Must be able to drive/backup with a truck and trailer. Also must be able to pass a DOT physical. Ability to operate small construction equipment including mini-excavator, tractor and skid steer. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Previous experience in construction, masonry, concrete, or monument installation is a plus but not required.
