American Cable & Telephone (ACT) is looking for an experienced Construction Operator / Laborer to join our team. We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating construction equipment and working alongside the crew performing general labor . This is a hands-on position, and the right candidate must be willing to do whatever is needed to get the job completed safely and efficiently. This is a local position with no overnight travel — you'll be home every night. Responsibilities Operate underground construction equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and other machinery. Assist with underground fiber and utility construction. Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, restoration, and general labor. Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment. Assist crews with conduit placement and job-site preparation. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues. Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized job site. Work as part of a crew and assist wherever needed. Qualifications Previous underground construction experience required. Experience operating construction equipment. Ability and willingness to perform both equipment operation and physical labor . Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Dependable, hardworking, and able to work well with a crew. Valid driver's license required. Experience in underground fiber or utility construction is a plus. What We're Looking For We want someone who isn't just an equipment operator.
