General Construction Worker Job Summary A General Construction Worker assists with a variety of construction projects and performs physical labor to support contractors, skilled tradespeople. Responsibilities may include preparing job sites, handling materials, operating tools and equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and clean construction sites before, during, and after projects. Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials and equipment. Assist skilled tradespeople with construction and renovation tasks. Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely. Perform digging, lifting, carrying, demolition, and other general labor duties. Measure, cut, and install materials as directed. Follow instructions from supervisors and project managers. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas. Work effectively as part of a construction crew. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous construction or general labor experience required. Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials. Basic/ advanced knowledge of construction tools and equipment. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to follow directions and work safely. Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined areas. Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment. Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks. Work Environment Work is performed primarily on construction sites and may involve exposure to dust, noise, machinery, outdoor weather conditions, and other typical construction hazards.
