Based on experience and demonstrated skill level Home Repair Baton Rouge is seeking a dependable, motivated construction and handyman apprentice to work alongside an experienced contractor with more than 37 years in the industry. This is not an entry-level position for someone with no construction knowledge. Applicants must understand basic construction and handyman work, know how to use common tools safely, and be willing to learn our methods and quality standards. Experience in the following areas is strongly preferred: General home repairs and renovations Flooring installation and repair Interior and exterior painting Roofing repairs Fascia and soffit repair Siding and exterior woodwork Drywall, trim, and basic carpentry Demolition, preparation, and job-site cleanup Applicant requirements: Must have previous construction, renovation, or handyman experience Must have a dependable, presentable truck suitable for transporting tools and materials Must own basic construction and hand tools Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must arrive on time and be ready to work Must be comfortable working on ladders and around roofing projects Must follow directions while also being able to work independently Must take pride in producing clean, professional-quality work Must be willing to go the extra mile for the customer and the company Must be able to troubleshoot problems and determine the true cause instead of applying a temporary fix Must treat customers, their homes, and other crew members respectfully Must keep the work area clean and help remove job-related debris Must be dependable, honest, drug-free, and professional We are looking for someone who wants steady opportunities, takes construction work seriously, and is willing to learn from an experienced contractor.
