Job Description
Position Summary:
Laborers assist with layouts, assembly, and installation of piping for underground/above ground electric, telecommunications, water, or natural gas. Perform necessary functions in support of Utility construction crew. Construction Services Division Laborers are required to be available for emergency response assignments as needed and to participate in the CSD Utility Winter Work On-Call Rotation Program.Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct. Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work area. Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies. Assist with joining, wrapping, and sealing pipe. Dig, spread, and level dirt, gravel, sand, or other materials using hand tools. Mix, pour, and spread concrete and asphalt using hand tools. Performs a variety of machine and non-machine tasks such as removing forms, placing pipe in trench, jack hammering and tapping. Work harmoniously, co-operatively, and courteously with others always. Perform other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required.Supervisory Responsibilities:
N/A Hiring Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent relevant experience. 1+ years of previous general labor construction experience. Available for emergency response assignments as needed and to participate in the CSD Utility Winter Work On-Call Rotation Program. Ability to read and write English. Obtain and maintain all required Gas Operator Qualifications to perform work.(company training provided) OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training). Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and driver review record. Valid unrestricted U.S. Driver's License. At R.H.
