Job Summary:
The Utility Construction Laborer assists in the installation and maintenance of underground utilities, focusing on natural gas systems. This role requires adherence to safety standards, effective execution of tasks, and collaboration with team members to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities:
Perform manual labor tasks, including excavating, trenching, and shoring, while working around heavy equipment. Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damage. Load and unload equipment and materials; restock supplies as needed. Prepare sites to maximize the efficiency of construction work. Assist in placing underground pipes and conduits, measure, mark, join, seal, and bed underground pipes. Identify utilities and potential hazards; assist in manually digging and protecting dig crews. Maintain a clean and organized worksite, free from unnecessary hazards. Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment. Adhere to all company safety policies and incident reporting procedures. Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Vocational training or construction experience.
