General Construction Laborer - Underground Utilities SWT Excavating, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Construction Laborer to join our team. SWT Excavating, Inc. specializes in underground utility construction, including the installation and replacement of municipal sewer and water lines, lead water service line replacement, water main installation, directional drilling, and other excavation services. Responsibilities The General Construction Laborer will assist crews with underground utility and excavation projects.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assist with the installation and replacement of water mains, water service lines, sewer lines, and other underground utilities.
• Assist equipment operators and crew members with excavation and site work.
• Perform general construction labor, including digging, backfilling, grading, cleanup, and restoration.
• Handle and maintain tools, materials, and equipment.
• Follow instructions from foremen, supervisors, and equipment operators.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work cooperatively as part of a crew to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.
• Travel to various project locations throughout Michigan, as required. Qualifications
• Underground utility, excavation, or general construction experience preferred.
• Reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Dependable and able to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to follow directions and work safely around heavy equipment.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor construction environment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work associated with construction and excavation.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work or assigned jobsite.
• Valid State of Michigan Driver's License required.
• Must properly care for company vehicles, equipment, materials, and tools. Education & Licensing
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
