SALARY/PAY RATE
$15.00 - $18.00
DESCRIPTION:
The Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians ("LVD") is seeking a full-time temporary Laborer to assist with Healthy Homes and Energy Assessment duties including data collection, performing basic measurements, and assessing residential homes in the Tribe's Michigan Service Area. This is a grant funded position and will be temporary until the grant period ends in 2029 or possibly sooner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with scheduled in-home Healthy Home and Energy Assessments ("Assessments")
  • Perform basic assessing tasks such as measuring rooms and building components, checking insulation, air sealing, ventilation, and moisture issues, recording data and observations accurately
  • Accurately complete Assessment checklist
  • Uses tools and supplies for Assessments.
  • Take accurate measurements and draw diagrams.
  • Awareness of safety hazards and applicable safety precautions required with tools being used and area work is performed in.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate tools.
  • Sufficient physical agility to work from ladders or on roof if necessary.
  • Ability to work in cold conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a steady, reliable worker.
  • Must be able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.
  • Must be able to perform tasks independently after being given instructions.
  • Must have general knowledge of equipment used in mechanical, electrical, and construction repair techniques.
  • Must have general knowledge of Home Construction.
  • Must be able to read a tape measurer and accurately record measurements.
  • Must be willing to work outside as directed.
  • Must be willing to go into crawl spaces.
  • Must have a drivers license.
