The Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians ("LVD") is seeking a full-time temporary Laborer to assist with Healthy Homes and Energy Assessment duties including data collection, performing basic measurements, and assessing residential homes in the Tribe's Michigan Service Area. This is a grant funded position and will be temporary until the grant period ends in 2029 or possibly sooner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with scheduled in-home Healthy Home and Energy Assessments ("Assessments")
Perform basic assessing tasks such as measuring rooms and building components, checking insulation, air sealing, ventilation, and moisture issues, recording data and observations accurately
Accurately complete Assessment checklist
Uses tools and supplies for Assessments.
Take accurate measurements and draw diagrams.
Awareness of safety hazards and applicable safety precautions required with tools being used and area work is performed in.
Sufficient manual dexterity to operate tools.
Sufficient physical agility to work from ladders or on roof if necessary.
Ability to work in cold conditions.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a steady, reliable worker.
Must be able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.
Must be able to perform tasks independently after being given instructions.
Must have general knowledge of equipment used in mechanical, electrical, and construction repair techniques.
Must have general knowledge of Home Construction.
Must be able to read a tape measurer and accurately record measurements.
Must be willing to work outside as directed.
Must be willing to go into crawl spaces.
Must have a drivers license.
