Job Description
Company Overview Charlotte Materials is a locally owned asphalt and concrete contractor serving the Charlotte region. We are a hands-on, team-oriented company where every team member plays a key role in getting projects completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Position Summary This is not a drive-only position . The CDL Driver at Charlotte Materials is a working member of the crew responsible for: Transporting equipment and materials to/from job sites Supporting asphalt, concrete, and sealcoating crews when hauling is not needed We are a smaller company, which means this role requires someone who is flexible, hardworking, and willing to jump in wherever needed . Key Responsibilities 1) Driving / Equipment Transport Operate company dump truck to haul: Equipment Asphalt materials Aggregate and supplies Load and secure equipment for safe transport Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of truck 2) Crew Labor Support When not actively hauling, this position will: Assist with asphalt, concrete, and sealcoating operations Perform general labor tasks including: Shoveling, raking, and site prep Assisting with layout, cleanup, and material handling Supporting crew members to maintain production flow Follow direction from foreman and support daily project needs 3) General Responsibilities Work as part of a team to meet production schedules Maintain a safe and organized job site Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines Communicate clearly with crew and supervisors Be willing to take on various tasks as job demands change Qualifications Valid Class A CDL (required) Dump Truck / Asphalt Hauling Experience Required Clean driving record Prior experience in: Construction, asphalt, concrete, or sitework (preferred) Ability to perform physical labor throughout the day Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, and varying conditions Team-oriented with a strong work ethic What We're Looking For Someone who understands this is a dual-role position Willingness to: Drive when needed Work with the crew when not hauling Reliable, dependable, and ready to work What This Job Is NOT Not a "sit in the truck all day" position Not a long-haul or over-the-road driving job Why This Role Matters At Charlotte Materials, our driver is a key part of keeping jobs moving.
