This position assists in the maintenance of and performs skilled work in construction, repair and maintenance of parks, facilities and grounds. Responsible for removing low handling limbs, maintain rights-of way and traffic islands. Repairs damage caused by erosion, removes low hanging limbs. of the City's open ditches, canals, basins, sidewalks, and other areas.REPORTS TO
The Crew Supervisor assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Maintains and repairs assigned tools and equipment. Constructs Park structures and recreational equipment, including swing sets, basketball goals, tennis courts, gazebos, fishing piers, look-out piers, and decks. Maintains and cleans swimming pools and related equipment; adds chemicals to ensure water quality. Operates lawn mowing equipment, chainsaws, pole saws, shovels, picks, and axes. Operates tools and equipment, including skill saw, table saw, miter saw, hammer drill, level, and wrenches; operates backhoes and other light equipment and sewer jet. Cleans open ditches; landscapes and sows grass. Repairs and replaces drain covers and basins. Repairs damage caused by erosion. Removes low hanging limbs.
