This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction painting, restoration, and renovation work. You will assist skilled painters with surface preparation, application of paint and coatings, and the use of various tools and equipment. Duties Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Support the application of paint and coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless spray painting), and other hand or power tools. Help set up ladders safely for reaching high areas on walls, ceilings, or structures while adhering to safety regulations. Prepare construction painting surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primer as needed for residential or commercial projects. Interpret schematics or technical drawings to understand project specifications and color schemes; perform visual color comparisons for accuracy. Assist with the installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, stucco work, or masonry tasks during renovation or restoration projects. Follow safety protocols diligently by wearing respiratory protection and using appropriate safety equipment at all times; adhere strictly to safety regulations on-site. Qualifications Previous experience in construction painting or related trades such as plastering, masonry, or handyman work is a plus but not required—training will be provided! Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including conventional and airless spray systems), and scaffolding or ladder use. Familiarity with construction estimating concepts and interpreting schematics or technical drawings is advantageous. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting materials, climbing ladders safely, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with an eye for color consistency; basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Commitment to safety regulations including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to site safety protocols. Experience with surface preparation techniques like sanding, caulking, priming, or masonry work enhances your fit for this role.
