Job Description
Applicants must be able to successfully pass a drug screening and physical. The ability to pass a Driving Record check is required for CDL applicants. Job Summary:
Supports underground utility construction activities involving water, sewer, storm drainage, conduit, and related infrastructure.Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation of water, sewer, storm drain, and utility systems.
- Prepare trenches and excavation areas for utility installation.
- Help place and align pipe, fittings, structures, and related materials.
- Install bedding materials and assist with backfilling operations.
- Assist with trench safety systems and excavations.
- Direct equipment operators during utility placement when required.
- Use hand and power tools to support installation activities.
- Perform site cleanup and restoration activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor environments.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to work safely around trenches and excavation operations.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attendance.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous utility construction or general construction experience preferred.Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and loud machinery.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
