Job Summary:

The HydroVac Laborer supports daily operations of a HydroVac truck crew by assisting with non-mechanical tasks such as digging, cleanup, and safe operation around utilities. This role is physically demanding and requires a commitment to safety, teamwork, and consistent attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the operation of HydroVac trucks to perform daylighting (exposing underground utilities), trenching, and potholing. Safely handle vacuum and water hose systems during excavation. Work in various outdoor environments including mud, heat, cold, and confined spaces. Follow safety procedures, including wearing PPE and using proper traffic control methods. Support the operator in pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Set up job sites with cones, signs, and safety barriers as required. Load and unload materials and equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area and vehicle. Complete basic paperwork and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver's license and must be insurable Must be able to lift 50+ pounds regularly. Ability to work overtime and travel as needed. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Experience in construction or utilities is a plus but not required—on-the-job training is provided.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, and occasionally hazardous materials. Physically demanding work that includes lifting, bending, standing, and working long hours.
