ABOUT THE JOB
Leads and works alongside a small crew to execute residential landscape construction projects, including landscaping, hardscaping, irrigation, and related site improvements. Serves as the primary on-site leader working alongside the crew while responsible for daily production, quality workmanship, job safety, crew coordination, and communication with the Project Manager. Supports successful project delivery by ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, according to plans and specifications, and in alignment with Rexius standards of craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Key Responsibilities Lead a small crew in performing residential landscape construction tasks including demolition/removal, grading, soil prep, planting, lawns, irrigation, drainage, hardscape installation, low voltage lighting, water features, and related site improvements. Work alongside crew members while directing daily work activities to ensure productivity and quality meets Rexius standards. Coordinate daily work plans with the Project Manager and adjust field operations based on site conditions, sequencing, and schedule needs. Ensure crew members understand assigned tasks, project expectations, and safety requirements. Read and interpret basic plans for layout information to guide field installation. Assist with layout, measurements, and verification of installation locations as directed by the Project Manager. Communicate material needs, equipment requirements, and potential schedule impacts to the Project Manager. Pick up and order materials for delivery. Track daily production quantities and support field documentation as directed. Identify and correct deficiencies before inspections or client review. Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites. Identify jobsite hazards daily and address unsafe conditions immediately. Provide on-the-job training and guidance on company policies to crew members. Promote a respectful, team-oriented work environment. Operate tools, vehicles, and construction equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, plate compactors, and related landscape construction equipment. Ensure proper care, use, and security of company tools and equipment. Verify materials delivered to the site match project needs and report discrepancies. Safety Follow all OSHA regulations that pertain to your job Follow safe work practices and comply with company safety policies. Report any work hazards to your Project Manager, Operations Manager or Department manager immediately. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for assigned activities. Participate in all safety protocols and procedure training that are relevant to your position. Report and document all work related job injuries and accidents on Rexius provided form. Attend and participate in annual safety training.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in commercial, residential landscape or related site construction. Crew leadership experience preferred
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Oregon Driver's License
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Hand-eye coordination and hand, arm, and finger mobility for detailed work with objects and tools.
Active movement throughout the day:
walking, standing, squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and carrying. (Not a sedentary job.)
Vision:
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Hearing:
able to satisfactorily communicate with customers, owners, and other staff members to ensure that verbal communication is clearly understood, particularly during emergency situations. Finger dexterity is needed to operate tools, equipment, and mobile devices. Primarily works outdoors on active construction jobsites in varying weather conditions. Exposure to construction site noise, dust, uneven terrain, and heavy equipment activity. Exposure to hectic, fast-paced, high activity environments. Additional or different duties may be assigned at the employer's discretion.
