This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with real field experience who can step onto a jobsite and be productive without needing to be taught basic construction.

Experience we are looking for:

Highway and roadway construction experience Traffic and highway sign installation Setting sign posts, foundations and sign structures Comfortable working alongside active roadways and traffic Familiar with traffic control and highway jobsite safety Excavation and site development Retaining wall construction Underground utilities including storm, sewer and water Grading and general dirt work Landscape and site restoration Concrete and general civil construction Ability to read and use a grade rod Understand elevations and basic grade Ability to read construction plans and details Comfortable working around excavators, loaders and other heavy equipment Ability to use hand tools, power tools and compaction equipment Jobsite cleanup and maintaining an organized work area Ability to work independently when given a task Ability to follow direction and work as part of a crew We want someone dependable who shows up ready to work, pays attention and takes pride in getting the job done right. Highway, roadway or traffic sign installation experience is a big plus. Experience working on ODOT or other public works projects is also a plus. Civil West Construction performs heavy civil and public works construction throughout Oregon including excavation, underground utilities, concrete, site development, roadway improvements and highway sign work. Valid driver's license. Pay is based on experience and ability.
