Job Description

Job Summary The laborer performs a variety of manual labor tasks related to site development as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Functions Performs a variety of labor tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Exercise proper care and use of all related hand tools. Ensure proper handling and placement of all construction materials. Performs general housekeeping at the job site. Works in trenches and confined spaces when accompanied by qualified workers. Works in a safe manner at all times. Performs related work as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Competencies Follow direct instructions. Communication skills Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment Frequently exposed to fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Exposure to extreme weather conditions. Loud noise levels on the job sites. Active jobsite with moving vehicles and heavy machinery. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, sitting and climbing for extended periods of time. Ability to climb a ladder. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to wear PPE (Personal protective equipment). Ability to work with multiple hand-arm vibration tools. Must frequently lift or move items 50 pounds or more. Ability to work and walk on uneven terrain. Position Type and Hours This is a full-time position. 40 hours per week and may require longer hours including evenings, weekends and overtime. Travel Occasional travel may be required. Required Education and Experience High School diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Preferred Education and Experience Degree or certificate in Heavy Equipment Operation or related field. Prefer some level of experience around heavy construction equipment.
