Job Description

Job Summary The slipform curb laborer works directly alongside the machine operator and concrete finishers. Key duties include setting up guide strings, directing concrete delivery trucks, shoveling excess material, and maintaining clean equipment. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Core Responsibilities Setup Stringlines :
Position stakes and sensor wires to establish accurate line and grade guidance for the slipform machine.
Guide Concrete Trucks :
Signal ready-mix truck drivers to safely back up and continuously discharge concrete into the machine hopper.
Manage Material :
Monitor concrete slump and shovel excess or low concrete directly in front of or behind the mold.
Cut Expansion Joints :
Assist finishers by placing joint material and cutting joints at designated intervals.
Clean Equipment :
Wash down the slipform machine, molds, and hand tools continuously to prevent concrete buildup. Maintain the

Clear debris from the paving path and shovel subgrade to fine-grade specifications. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
Skills and Qualifications Experience :
Previous construction or concrete paving experience is preferred but not always required.
Physical Stamina :
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly in all weather conditions.
Hand Tool Proficiency :
Skilled in using shovels, rakes, brooms, hammers, and basic concrete hand floats.
Teamwork :
Strong communication skills to respond quickly to verbal commands and hand signals from the operator.
Transportation :
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites.
Work Environment Schedule :
Full-time with frequent overtime, early morning starts.
Conditions :
Entirely outdoors, exposing workers to extreme heat, dust, loud machine noise, and wet concrete.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
