Cheswick Borough - Public Works Laborer Position Cheswick Borough is accepting applications for a Public Works laborer. Cheswick is a small, mostly residential community located in northeastern Allegheny County. The Borough is focused on continuing its quiet, clean, well-maintained appearance while providing resident-oriented services. The successful applicant will be a diligent, highly motivated individual, capable of leading a task or working under supervision, either independently or on a team. Job Description This position entails general maintenance and repair (including the use of hand tools and power equipment), light construction, and upkeep of various labor projects, facilities, and municipal resources within the Borough. Duties include grounds keeping, winter maintenance (including the ability to drive a snow plow equipped borough truck), road maintenance, building maintenance, park maintenance, water system and sewer system maintenance, the operation of vehicles and special equipment, and the basic upkeep, maintenance and cleaning of borough owned vehicles and equipment. 8 hour shift - Monday through Friday Daylight Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED Previous experience in public works, construction, or related field preferred Valid PA Driver's License Ability to pass a background check and drug testing The ability to perform manual labor for extended periods Experience and understanding of the safe and effective use of a variety of tools and special equipment Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in addition to extended shift / on-call shifts during snow removal operations. Cheswick Borough is an EOE.
