GENERAL CONSTRUCTION LABORER

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Digging trenches, compacting earth and backfilling holes. Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment. Assisting in the Hydro-Vac excavation process. Minor carpentry/construction projects. Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans. Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties. Perform routine maintenance on trucks/equipment such as checking batteries, greasing/lubing and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running. Work in a timely and safe manner at all times. Keep work site and equipment clean and organized. Ability to communicate well with other departments to maximize efficiency on jobsites. Must be able to pass random drug and alcohol testing.

JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a valid driver's license. Be at least 18 years of age. Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks. Ability to work in all weather. Workers must be punctual and reliable. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Critical thinking, analysis and evaluation abilities.
