Superintendent Responsibilities:
Performs general repair and maintenance work Functions independently, or as part of a work crew on all projects and tasks Receives work orders and determines equipment, materials, tools and supplies required per job site Ensures proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tools, materials, and vehicles utilized per work site; ensures adherence to principles and practices of safe use and operation of equipment, tools, materials, and vehicles Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems Represents MEC in a positive and professional manner in the community Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies Maintains a clean and organized work area Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary Operation and routine maintenance of equipment and vehicles; i.e. trucks, digging, trenching equipment, and other equipment as required Loading and unloading various equipment, chemicals and supplies at worksites and store areas Performs other duties or special projects as requested related to the area of responsibility Must be available to work overtime and "on call" duty as scheduled
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain) Frequent lifting (up to and including 50 pounds) Frequent bending, twisting and standing Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required
Experience:
At least two years of experience in a work related are Knowledge of industry safety standards is required Valid driver's license and ability to be insured is required Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required Ability to work for extended periods of time in adverse weather conditions Travel is required
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required
Licenses or Certifications:
OSHA 10 certification preferred
