This position requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship. Laborers actively contribute to maintaining a safe job site while assisting operators, foremen, and crew members to keep projects on schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety requirements Identify and report unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately Properly wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) Participate in daily job site safety meetings and ongoing training Field Operations Perform manual labor including digging, lifting, carrying, shoveling, and site preparation Assist equipment operators and skilled trades on underground utility and grading projects Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and assigned equipment Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and supplies Maintain clean and organized job sites Equipment & Materials Support safe handling and staging of materials Assist with traffic control and job site setup as needed Perform routine tool and equipment inspections Teamwork & Communication Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members Accurately complete daily timecards and required documentation Represent the company professionally on all job sites
Qualifications & Work Environment:
Previous construction or labor-intensive experience preferred; underground utility or site development experience is a plus Ability to lift, carry, and perform physically demanding work in outdoor construction environments Exposure to weather extremes, dust, noise, and heavy equipment Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic Willingness to work occasional overtime and obtain necessary certifications (forklift, First Aid/CPR, etc.) This position is classified as safety-sensitive
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
