  • Job Title: General Construction Laborer
  • Job Description
  • This role involves supporting construction and demolition activities by removing drywall and handling construction materials, while performing a variety of general labor tasks as assigned. You will work on-site in a physically active position that contributes directly to the progress and cleanliness of the project.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Remove and tear out drywall safely and efficiently according to site instructions.

+ Load removed drywall and other demolition debris into a hopper or designated disposal containers.

+ Perform general construction labor duties as assigned, including site cleanup, material handling, and basic support tasks.

+ Use hand tools correctly and safely to assist with demolition and other construction activities.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout the shift.

+ Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working on the construction site.

+ Collaborate with site personnel and follow direction from supervisors to complete assigned tasks on time.

+ Report any hazards, incidents, or equipment issues promptly to site leadership.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Previous construction experience, particularly in general labor or demolition work.

+ Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.

+ Experience using basic hand tools commonly used in construction environments.

+ Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

+ Reliability in adhering to scheduled work hours and completing assigned tasks.

  • + Familiarity with drywall removal or similar demolition work. + Comfort working in active construction environments with changing tasks and priorities. + Basic understanding of construction site safety practices. + Willingness to learn new tasks and support various aspects of the project as needed.

  • Work Environment
  • This position is based on an active construction site and involves hands-on demolition and general labor tasks.

Typical hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a regular daytime schedule. The work is physically demanding and requires frequent lifting, carrying materials, and standing or moving throughout the site. You will use basic hand tools and work around construction equipment and debris, so adherence to safety procedures and appropriate work attire, such as durable clothing and protective gear, is essential.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $20.

00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
