Description Benefits Questions Duties and Responsibilities Essential Job Functions:
Performs skilled tasks involved in the fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of traffic control devices, including signs, pavement marking, and/or freeway lighting; maintains and services all sign equipment, vehicles and work areas; operates power tools including jack hammers, pipe wrenches, mauls, and/or saws.
Other Job Functions:
Light maintenance; cleans tools; washes vehicles. Performs other duties as required. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required. Working Conditions This position requires 100% on-site work. Works inside and outside in all types of weather including extreme cold, heat and temperature swings; is exposed to traffic noise, fumes/odors, gas vapors, insect bites, mechanical/electrical and explosive hazards. Possibility of physical injury due to working around excavation holes and trenches. Works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. May be required to work additional hours during emergencies, standby duty and other miscellaneous events.
Minimum Essential Qualifications Knowledge:
Some knowledge of traffic signs, pavement markings, and/or construction work zones including fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair.
Skills/Abilities:
Skilled in the use of light to medium power equipment and small hand tools as listed above; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time and during unfavorable weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
Constantly sees and hears; frequently lifts, drags, pulls, pushes and crawls; may work in heights up to 35 feet.
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Other Other:
This position requires 100% on-site work. Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid driver's license equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
