Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our construction team. This role involves operating various heavy machinery and assisting with construction utility work to ensure project efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with construction equipment, and a commitment to adhering to safety regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse construction projects, supporting infrastructure development and site preparation. Duties Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, water trucks, and dump trucks to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and federal safety regulations. Assist with construction utility work such as utility locating and horizontal drilling to ensure accurate installation and compliance. Support site preparation activities by performing excavation, grading, and site leveling tasks. Drive commercial trucks for transporting materials and equipment safely across job sites while adhering to all traffic laws and safety procedures. Follow equipment safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently and meet project deadlines. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections. Skills Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, water trucks, and dump trucks. Strong mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of construction equipment. Familiarity with construction utility work including utility locating and horizontal drilling techniques. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures. Ability to perform construction grading, excavation, paving, and site preparation tasks effectively. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving. Excellent understanding of construction site operations and safety standards. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment while maintaining attention to detail. Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. This position is integral to the successful completion of our construction projects.
