You'll produce hot mix asphalt for military runways, construct roads for the Department of Transportation, and handle high-stakes concrete work for aviation and defense facilities. This job will be working at Randolph Air Force Base and will need to pass additional security clearance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Rakes and shovels hot mix, dirt and other materials. Performs manual labor tasks associated with dirt work, paving, or underground utility work. Operates skid steer loader, shouldering machine, broom, or other equipment when direct by foreman. Performs necessary daily inspection and or maintenance of equipment used. Keeps equipment clean and in working order and prepares equipment for transport when needed. Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at jobsite. Follows Supervisor's instructions closely. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Understand and adhere to all safety regulations. Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements. An unwavering focus on safety. OSHA Willingness to travel throughout Texas. Work Environment/Physical Demands Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit. Work outside in all weather conditions. Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Regularly work extended/overtime hours. Ability to travel to job sites; may include frequent overnight stays.
