Job Title:
Laborer I Job Summary The Laborer I supports daily operations on construction sites by assisting with site preparation, material handling, and general labor tasks. This is an entry-level position that provides hands-on training and opportunities to develop skills, including learning to operate heavy equipment, while working in a safe, team-oriented environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with site preparation, setup, and general construction activities Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment Perform site cleanup to maintain a safe and orderly work environment Operate hand tools and basic power tools under supervision Support skilled trades and equipment operators by providing materials and assistance as needed Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, grading, and backfilling Assist with the installation of temporary structures, fencing, or barricades Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and job site guidelines Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support project progress Schedule Expectations Willingness and ability to work out of town for extended periods of time as required by project needs Overtime, including evenings and weekends, should be expected Physical Demands Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind Sufficient vision, hearing, and coordination to safely perform job duties and respond to job site hazards
