Brown-McKee, Inc. located at 906 E Slaton Road, Lubbock, TX, 79404, (806) 745-4511 is seeking 5 temporary full-time Construction Laborers to work at 3500 West. 16th St, Plainview, Hale County, TX, 79072, and Multiple Cities and Towns in Cochran, Hockley, Lubbock, Crosby, Lynn, Garza, Lamb, Hale, Floyd, Yoakum, Terry, Kent, Gaines, Dawson, Borden, Scurry, Fisher, Andrews, Howard, Mitchell, Nolan and Glasscock counties, from 10/01/2026 to 12/31/2026 to perform lesser tasks involving manual labor at concrete construction sites. Prepare the sites for the placing of concrete by loading and unloading materials, running string-lines, cutting wood with skill saws, using a sledgehammer to pound stakes into the ground, digging and leveling the earth using shovels and plate packers. Under supervision, lift, carry, fasten, strip, oil and set wooden and metal concrete forms using simple hand and power tools. Assist with placing concrete by using wheelbarrows, concrete rakes, shovels and walk-behind concrete vibrators. Clean up waste materials and caulk joints. 6 months of Concrete Construction experience required. Some weekends work. Must be able to handle temperature extremes. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. for 50 yards Will travel to worksites within area of intended employment. No prior education is required. On the job, training will be provided. $19.81/hr. Approx. 40 hours/week, from Monday to Saturday 7:00 am to 6:00pm. Applicants may be offered a higher wage than the advertised wage based on experience and/or merit. $29.72/hr for overtime. Up to 10 hours of overtime may be available but not guaranteed. All deductions from the workers paycheck will be made as required by law. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay weekly by check. Any advances will be deducted with the consent of the employee. The employer will provide housing as an option to employees living outside the regular commuting distance. Employees who elect to live in the housing will have an additional $155.75 deducted per weekly paycheck for rent and utilities. Optional daily transportation will be provided to and from the worksite, and the employer will deduct $0.00. In the first workweek, the cost of transportation (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be directly reimbursed to every worker. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. In the first workweek, daily subsistence for travel to the place of employment will be reimbursed at a rate of at least $16.78/day to a maximum of $68.00/day with receipts. Also, workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).
