San Angelo, TX Job Details Full-time $20 - $25 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Relocation assistance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Outdoor work experience Full Job Description Position Summary The Welder / General Laborer is responsible for assisting with the fabrication, repair, installation, and handling of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and other construction-related materials. This position performs welding and cutting operations while also supporting general labor activities in the shop and field to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWelding & Fabrication Perform MIG, FCAW, Stick, and other welding processes as required. Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Cut, fit, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication and assembly. Inspect welds and completed work for quality and compliance with project requirements. Operate welding machines, torches, grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment. General Labor Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials and equipment. Support steel erection, material handling, and shop operations. Maintain a clean and organized work area, shop, and jobsite. Assist in equipment maintenance and routine inspections. Perform demolition, cleanup, and other labor-intensive tasks as assigned. Work as part of a team to meet project schedules and production goals. Safety Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Identify and report unsafe conditions or practices. Participate in safety meetings and training programs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous welding, fabrication, construction, or industrial labor experience preferred. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings as required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in physically demanding environments. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to work at heights when required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed. Team-oriented attitude with a focus on quality workmanship. Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
