About the Role We are seeking experienced and safety-focused Equipment Operators to join our pipeline construction crew. In this hands-on role, you will operate heavy equipment to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas, oil, or water pipelines. This is a field-based position requiring travel to active right-of-way sites and a strong commitment to safety, productivity, and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, sidebooms, graders, loaders, trenchers, and other specialized pipeline machinery.
Perform ditching, backfilling, grading, pipe handling, and right-of-way preparation according to project plans and engineered specifications.
Assist with stringing, bending, and lowering-in of pipe sections.
Conduct daily pre-operational inspections, basic maintenance, and report equipment issues promptly.
Follow all company, OSHA, and DOT safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to excavation and confined-space procedures.
Work closely with welders, laborers, inspectors, and supervisors to maintain production schedules.
Maintain accurate daily reports and equipment logs.
Adapt to changing site conditions, weather, and project demands while prioritizing environmental protection and landowner relations. Required Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in pipeline, utility, or heavy civil construction.
Valid drivers license (CDL preferred or required depending on equipment).
Proven ability to operate excavators and/or sidebooms in pipeline environments.
Strong understanding of pipeline construction sequences and safe excavation practices.
Ability to read grade stakes, blueprints, and construction drawings.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to remote job sites for the duration of the project.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical.
