We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Equipment Operator / Laborer to join our dirt work and general contracting team. This position will operate a variety of heavy equipment while also performing hands-on construction labor as needed. Our projects involve excavation, grading, site preparation, hauling, drainage, and general dirt work. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, operates equipment safely and efficiently, and is willing to get out of the machine and work alongside the crew when the job requires it. This is a hands-on position. Operators should be prepared to perform physically demanding labor, including shoveling, digging, raking, lifting, and other general construction duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate construction equipment, including: Dozers Excavators Skid steers Wheel loaders Water trucks Other heavy equipment as assigned Perform excavation, grading, backfilling, spreading, loading, and material handling. Assist with site preparation and general dirt work. Perform manual labor when needed, including: Shoveling Raking and grading Digging Moving materials Cleaning and preparing work areas Other physically demanding construction tasks Work closely with foremen, operators, laborers, truck drivers, and other crew members to complete projects efficiently. Follow project plans, grade requirements, instructions, and established procedures. Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical problems or safety concerns. Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Assist with loading, unloading, fueling, greasing, and basic maintenance of equipment. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Maintain a safe work environment for yourself, coworkers, and the public. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment preferred. Experience with dirt work, excavation, grading, or general construction is a plus. Ability to safely operate one or more types of heavy equipment. Ability and willingness to perform manual labor when required. Must be physically capable of prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and shoveling. Ability to lift and carry materials and tools as required by the job. Dependable transportation and reliable attendance. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crew. Strong attention to safety and surroundings. Willingness to learn new equipment and construction techniques. Valid driver's license preferred/required depending on position and company requirements. Conditions may include uneven terrain, dust, noise, vibration, extreme temperatures, and close proximity to heavy equipment, trucks, and other construction activities. Safety is a priority. Employees are expected to follow all company safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, or incidents to their supervisor.

From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
