Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Demolition Laborer and be at the forefront of transforming spaces! In this energetic role, you will assist with the safe and efficient teardown of structures, preparing sites for new construction or renovation projects. Your hands-on skills and attention to detail will contribute to successful project completion, ensuring safety and quality at every step. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise across various demolition and construction tasks while working in a fast-paced environment that values your contributions. Responsibilities Assist with the demolition of buildings, structures, and fixtures using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment under supervision. Safely remove debris, hazardous materials, and recyclable materials from work sites to maintain a clean and safe environment. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to understand project scope and specific demolition requirements. Support with site preparation activities such as setting up scaffolding, barricades, and safety signage. Help with the disassembly of components like cabinetry, drywall, roofing, concrete forms, and masonry elements. Operate basic hand tools and power tools for demolition tasks while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with construction management teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards. Experience Prior experience working on construction sites or in demolition roles is highly preferred. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to construction or demolition projects. Knowledge of construction management practices, estimating processes, and inspection procedures is a plus. Hands-on experience with various trades such as carpentry, masonry, roofing, plumbing, electrical work, or restoration enhances your versatility. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed. Strong understanding of safety standards related to demolition activities including handling hazardous materials like asbestos or lead-based paint. Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques in demolition and construction processes.
