General Construction Laborer/Equipment Operator We are seeking an experienced and safety-oriented General Construction Laborer/Equipment Operator to join our team and safely and efficiently support construction and equipment tasks. Competitive pay, dependent on experience, between $17 and $23 per hour. Job Responsibilities General construction activities including framing, drywall install, drywall repair/patch, texture, painting, finish carpentry. Basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical activities. Basic concrete forming and finishing activities. Basic roofing activities. Occasionally operate heavy equipment (skid steer, mini-ex, backhoe, etc.). Follow all safety procedures and expectations on the job site. Provide preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly. Perform minor repairs on equipment issues. Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders and other tools as directed by management. Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including underground water and sewer, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches. Follow all safety procedures on the job site. Maintain a safe and clean job site on a daily basis. Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment. Various other general construction/maintenance activities as required.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. No DUIs on record. Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards. Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair pieces of heavy equipment. Underground utility/grading experience preferred. General construction background preferred. Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment. Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds. Minimum 3 years general construction experience related to responsibilities listed above. Ability to read and interpret plans and other written instructions. Good communication skills; listening, comprehension, and feedback. 3+ years of experience working with heavy equipment preferred.
