Job Overview:
Nestled in the heart of Locust Grove, Virginia, Lake of the Woods is a vibrant, picturesque community offering a range of amenities, including a golf course, swimming pools, two marinas, two lakes, two restaurants, and many more with beautiful lakeside views. With over 4,200 lots and a strong sense of community, Lake of the Woods is an extraordinary place to live and work. We are seeking a skilled, hard-working, and dedicated individual with previous maintenance experience, preferably with main roads, streets, and rights-of-way to join our Maintenance Roads Crew.Purpose:
To maintain LOW streets, rights-of-way, drainage systems, and equipment. To improve the safety and aesthetics of LOW roads and property.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate vehicles and equipment as required to maintain and repair streets, etc. Perform street work including patching of holes, installing and maintaining street signs, brush cutting and shouldering. Perform ice and snow removal. Repair and clean culverts and shallow collectors as directed. Perform leaf vacuum operations. Perform traffic control in construction areas. Erect and dismantle barricades and construction signs. Complete other tasks that may be assigned by theForeman Working Conditions and Environment:
Outdoor work, exposed to all elements and weather conditions. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. Frequently exposed to fumes, hot liquids and materials. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Noise level is usually loud. Travel is limited to the confines of Association property with occasional travel for supply or equipment pick-up and to the county landfill.Work Schedule Description:
- 7:00am-3:30pm. Monday through Friday.
- Position is considered essential and can be called on in event of emergency during non scheduled working hours.
- Occasionally requirement of evening, weekend and holiday work in support of a special event.
