GTA is looking for a Construction Technician in the Roanoke, VA area. Responsibilities include visiting construction sites to perform Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections to ensure erosion and sediment control elements are installed and functioning properly. A summary report, including photographs of deficient areas and systems, is required at the end of each inspection on the same date that the inspection was performed. Candidates may perform SWPPP (Storm water Pollution Protection Plan) inspections at various sites through Virginia. This is an

Experience is preferred, but we will accept entry level candidates and provide training!
Requirements Successful candidates MUST have:
High School diploma or equivalent SWPPP certification provided through EPA or DEQ is a plus, but not required. Own a reliable vehicle, have a valid driver's license, and have a good driving record Enjoy working outdoors Ability to work alone as well as in a group setting This position may require standing for extended durations as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering and walking along difficult terrain. The employee must have the ability to use their hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit, see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 60 pounds; and occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).
