This is a hands-on position that combines equipment operation with general construction labor. The ideal candidate will have experience operating equipment such as excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, loaders, and bulldozers. Operators should be comfortable performing excavation, grading, trenching, and fine grading to tight tolerances according to project plans and specifications. This is not strictly an equipment operator position. Every workday is different, and team members are expected to be willing and able to perform whatever task is needed to get the job done , including operating equipment, hand digging, pipe installation, grading, hardscaping, retaining walls, landscaping, mowing, material handling, site cleanup, snow removal, and other general labor duties. Responsibilities Operate light and medium construction equipment safely and efficiently Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and fine grading Read and follow construction plans, blueprints, and project specifications Perform general construction labor, including hand digging and material handling Assist with pipe and drainage installation Assist with hardscaping, retaining walls, landscaping, and site preparation Mow grass and perform general property maintenance when needed Assist with snow removal and winter maintenance Load, unload, move, and organize materials and equipment Perform basic equipment inspections and routine maintenance Maintain a clean and safe job site Communicate effectively with the foreman and other crew members Complete assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and professionally Be willing to perform any job-related task assigned by the foreman or supervisor What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, versatile, and willing to work as part of a team . You should be comfortable getting out of the machine and working with the crew when the job requires it. No two days are the same. Some days may involve operating equipment all day, while others may involve labor, pipe work, landscaping, cleanup, or other construction tasks. A strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever is needed are essential. Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Minimum 1 year of equipment operating experience Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Basic understanding of grades and elevations Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work in all weather conditions Ability to perform physically demanding work Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Willingness to perform both equipment operation and general labor duties Preferred Qualifications Heavy Equipment Operator Certification Stormwater Certification CDL Class A Experience operating road tractors/dump trucks Experience with fine grading and finish work Experience working from construction plans and blueprints Bilingual in Spanish Pay $18-$28/hour, based on experience and skill level Benefits Paid time off after 6 months Health insurance coming in the near future Retirement plan coming in the near future Opportunities for training and advancement If you're looking for a position where every day is different, you enjoy working outdoors, and you're willing to jump in and help wherever you're needed, we'd like to hear from you!
