Job Description The Laborer position requires a desire to work hard and learn with a team of talented carpenters and to take on greater responsibilities as you progress. You must be a team player with a willingness to pitch in at any level necessary to contribute to the overall success of the project. Laborer Reports to Superintendent Minimum Qualifications Must be customer service-oriented Efficient, motivated, dependable, and ethical Willingness and excitement to learn the trade Ability to take instruction and not afraid to ask questions Knowledge of basic hand tools Safety-conscious, follows safety policies Must have reliable transportation, and a clean driving record Must have own work boots, hammer, nail bags, tape measure, some small tools Preferred Qualifications Construction job site experience Basic carpentry skills or training Physical Requirements Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis for an 8-hour day Ability to lift 50 lbs., including overhead Ability to perform physical and repetitive motions Requires vision and hearing capabilities Ability to work outdoors in all weather Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, non-exempt position, Monday-Friday. Fairbank Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The wage range for this position is $20.00-23.00/hour 7 Paid Holidays per Year (plus Veteran's Day if you are a military veteran) PTO 2 weeks of paid time off per year for sick, vacation and personal time, up to 4 weeks with years of service Paid Bereavement Leave 401(k) plan with employer match Health, dental, vision, accident, and life insurance after 60 days for an employee working at least 20 hours per week.
