Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Excavation Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will play a vital part in excavation projects, assisting with the operation of heavy machinery, utility locating, and site preparation. Your energetic approach and attention to safety will ensure efficient progress on construction sites while adhering to all federal and industry safety regulations. Responsibilities Operate excavation equipment such as excavators, loaders, and backhoes safely and efficiently, following all equipment safety procedures. Assist with construction grading, site clearing, trenching, and utility installation tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation begins, preventing damage or accidents. Follow federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols at all times during operations. Support construction utility work by assisting with the installation and removal of underground utilities as directed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored after use. Qualifications Prior construction site experience or related fieldwork is highly preferred. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, and backhoes. Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving is a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, digging, and operating machinery for extended periods. Familiarity with construction safety regulations such as OSHA standards and federal safety procedures. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
