Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Water and Sewer Operator and Laborer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and installing essential water supply and wastewater systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of underground utilities. You will be involved in both skilled equipment operation and manual labor tasks, contributing to community infrastructure and public health. Duties Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to assist with trenching, pipe installation, and utility system construction. Install, repair, and maintain sanitary drainage systems, sewer lines, stormwater systems, and water supply infrastructure following blueprint specifications and construction plans. Use utility locating tools and interpret technical drawings to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation or installation. Perform construction trenching activities while adhering to federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol standards. Conduct concrete finishing, welding, pipe laser alignment, and underground utilities installation to ensure precise project execution. Assist with pipeline installation projects using heavy equipment and hand tools; ensure all work complies with safety regulations. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection logs, safety reports, and project documentation. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and pipeline machinery. Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply systems, and underground utilities installation. Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, technical drawings, and interpret specifications accurately. Skilled in utility trenching, sewer line installation, pipe laser alignment technology, and construction site experience. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Proficiency with hand tools used in construction trenching and pipe installation projects. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and utility system installation projects.
