Job Description
Job Summary:
General Laborer performs a wide variety of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks to support the construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of district irrigation and drainage facilities. This position ensures efficient water delivery to customers by keeping canals, pipelines, head gates, and rights-of-way clean, safe, and functional.Essential Duties & Responsibilities System Maintenance:
Digs, clears, and repairs open ditches, canals, flumes, and pipelines to ensure unobstructed water flow.Infrastructure Construction:
Assists with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing for structures like head gates, bulkheads, and checks.Vegetation & Debris Control:
Removes trash, weeds, moss, and debris from waterways and grates using hand tools and high-pressure cleaning systems.Equipment Operation:
Safely operate hand and power tools including jackhammers, skill saws, drills, weed eaters, and pneumatic equipment.Vehicle Handling:
General maintenance duties on equipment fleet vehicles Drives light trucks, service vehicles, and utility trailers to transport tools and materials to remote field locations.Facility Upkeep:
Performs general maintenance on district properties, including fence building, painting, and basic groundskeeping.Emergency Response:
Responds to urgent maintenance issues, leaks, or flooding hazards, occasionally outside of standard working hours.Pay:
$20.00 - $22.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per weekBenefits:
