Position Summary Do you have civil construction Superintendent experience with a General Contractor in Alaska or the PNW? Dawson's Civil Superintendent takes full ownership for field delivery of the project: Safety, Client Satisfaction, Quality, Schedule, Production, and Cost. Builds and leads a field team capable of winning under pressure. Includes travel to and from project site.

Essential Functions People First:

Prioritizes Safety and well-being every day. Everyone goes home safe. Sets the tone for the entire project: intensity, urgency, accountability, professionalism. Builds and maintains strong relationships with owner, architect, subcontractors, project manager, and crew. Defines the Quality bar for the project, and ensures it is met or exceeded. Ensures work is done right the first time. Creates and owns a realistic but aggressive schedule, then drives every day's plan from it. Treats production as a daily scoreboard that reflects leadership, planning, and culture. Works in partnership with EM to meet or exceed project production targets, through completion of final punch list. Manages labor and logistics, understanding that every field decision has cost impact. Review contract drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings for errors, omissions, and conflicts. Write detailed RFI's when conflicts or clarification of documents are needed. Facilitate weekly subcontractor coordination meetings to minimize conflicts and avoid trade stacking. Conduct crew hiring, drug screening, and new-hire orientation. Develop skills. Assist subcontractors with work plans, schedules, jobsite orientation, and safety/quality expectations. Conduct weekly all-hands Toolbox Talk (TBT) safety meetings and provide documentation. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Able to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Excellent written and verbal communication Available to work overtime if necessary Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word). Education and/or Experience 5+ years' experience in civil construction, including experience with a civil contractor in Alaska or the Pacific Northwest. Knowledge of the construction industry, specifically civil contracting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on customer service. Ability to speak clearly and articulate using proper grammar. Ability to travel to Alaska and work from site. Skilled working in scheduling (Phoenix), PDF mark-up (BlueBeam) software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to prioritize work activities and demonstrate good time management skills. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future.
