Job Description
Traveling Superintendent - Commercial (Ground-Up) Juneau, AK Take your Superintendent experience on the road and lead major ground-up commercial projects in Juneau and across Southeast Alaska—with travel fully supported by the company. This opportunity is designed for a proven traveler who is comfortable stepping into a new location, establishing the jobsite, and becoming the day-to-day field leader from mobilization through turnover. Working a typical six-weeks-on, one-week-off rotation, you will have the autonomy to coordinate subcontractors, manage site logistics, and keep complex commercial projects valued at $15 million or more moving forward. Flights, lodging, and local transportation are covered and per diem provided while you are traveling. This position is ideal for a flexible, self-sufficient Superintendent who enjoys experiencing different project locations, building strong field teams, and taking full ownership of a jobsite away from home.
Superintendent Responsibilities:
Travel to assigned project locations and serve as the primary on-site leader from mobilization through final turnover. Lead and direct all on-site construction activities. Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, trades, and material deliveries. Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents. Drive project schedules, productivity, and day-to-day field execution. Identify and resolve production challenges to keep projects moving forward. Ensure work meets safety, quality, and contractual requirements. Conduct safety meetings and maintain accurate project documentation. Oversee project closeout and punch list completion. Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to achieve project goals.Superintendent Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects for a general contractor. Experience leading projects valued at $15 million or more. Associate degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced field environment. Willingness and ability to maintain a typical six-weeks-on, one-week-off travel rotation.Company Benefits:
