Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Plumbing and HVAC Project Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of our mechanical construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, and on-site coordination for residential, commercial, or industrial projects. You will serve as the primary liaison between company leadership, field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. The ideal candidate brings strong background knowledge in both wet and dry mechanical systems, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of bringing projects in on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution:
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, material takeoffs, and labor scheduling.
Financial Management:
Manage project budgets, track job costs in real time, minimize variances, and handle billings, submittals, RFI's, and change orders to maximize profitability.
Field & Subcontractor Coordination:
Direct field crews and assign workforce resources. Select, negotiate with, and monitor subcontractors to ensure quality and deadline standards are met.
Procurement & Vendor Relations:
Source equipment and materials, issue purchase orders, and build strategic vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and on-time delivery.
Blueprint & Code Review:
Interpret mechanical schematics, plans, and specifications. Ensure all installations strictly comply with state/local building, plumbing, and HVAC regulations.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with General Contractors (GCs), architects, engineers, and property owners. Attend job site progress meetings and provide regular status updates.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce rigorous site safety protocol, including OSHA regulations and internal corporate safety guidelines.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field experience is preferred.
Experience:
4+ years of project management experience directly working for an HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contractor.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of mechanical system components (piping, ductwork, HVAC units, drainage) alongside layout fabrication and installation practices.
Software Proficiency:
Strong experience using construction software like MS Project, BlueBeam, Primavera, Procore, Autodesk Forma, or specialized mechanical estimating/bidding tools.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills under pressure.
Other Logistics:
Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
