Job Description

Position Information Austin Construction Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team and oversee the day-to-day field operations of commercial construction projects ranging from approximately $1 million to $3 million . We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a great attitude, works hard, and understands the importance of being a team player . The right person will take ownership of their projects while working closely with our Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to successfully deliver quality projects. Position Summary The Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of day-to-day field operations. This includes coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintaining project schedules, managing site logistics, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring work is completed according to the plans, specifications, and schedule. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can independently manage a commercial jobsite, anticipate problems, communicate effectively, and keep the project moving forward. Key Responsibilities Manage daily field operations for commercial construction projects. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. Maintain project schedules and develop short-term look-ahead schedules. Coordinate sequencing between trades. Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals. Identify potential conflicts and schedule issues before they impact the project. Monitor subcontractor manpower, productivity, quality, and progress. Coordinate material deliveries and jobsite logistics. Conduct regular jobsite inspections. Coordinate inspections and required testing. Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, and project documentation. Participate in subcontractor coordination meetings. Communicate schedule, quality, safety, and field issues with the Project Manager. Assist with RFIs, change orders, and resolution of field issues. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional jobsite. Manage punch-list activities and assist with project closeout. Maintain positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent or Minimum 5 years of experience in a Commercial Trade. Experience independently managing commercial projects in the $500,000 -$3,000,000 range . Strong knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and scheduling. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings. Ability to effectively manage and hold subcontractors accountable. Strong understanding of construction safety requirements. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to identify problems early and develop practical solutions. Ability to work independently while being an active member of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Ground-up commercial construction experience. Commercial renovation experience. OSHA 30 certification. Procore experience. First Aid/CPR certification.. The Person We're Looking For At Austin Construction Group Inc., attitude matters .
