Job Description
Project Manager - Steel Construction We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and experienced Project Manager to join our steel company. This position requires someone who can manage multiple projects at once, communicate effectively with customers, vendors, field crews, and office staff, and keep projects moving from start to finish. Responsibilities Manage multiple steel projects from planning through completion Coordinate schedules, materials, deliveries, subcontractors, and field crews Track project timelines, budgets, change orders, and outstanding items Review plans, drawings, contracts, and project specifications Communicate with customers, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams Order and track materials to ensure projects stay on schedule Maintain accurate and organized project documentation Identify potential delays or issues and work proactively to resolve them Attend project meetings and provide regular status updates Work closely with estimating, fabrication, and field personnel Qualifications Strong computer skills are required Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets, scheduling, and project-management software Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Construction project-management experience preferred Steel construction/fabrication experience is strongly preferred What We're Looking For We need someone who takes ownership of their projects and doesn't need to be constantly reminded of deadlines or outstanding items. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, accountable, tech-savvy, and an excellent communicator. This is a fast-paced position where attention to detail and the ability to stay ahead of multiple moving parts are essential.
