Duncan Electric is seeking a highly experienced Industrial Electrical Superintendent to lead electrical construction activities on industrial projects. This is not an entry level position. Substantial industrial electrical experience is required to apply. Position Summary The Industrial Electrical Superintendent will oversee field operations, supervise electrical crews, coordinate work with project management and other trades, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and applicable electrical codes. Required Experience and Assessment Applicants must have verifiable experience as an industrial electrician and demonstrate the knowledge necessary to supervise industrial electrical work. All candidates must complete a Journeyperson electrical assessment as part of the selection process. Candidates must achieve a satisfactory result demonstrating that they possess the practical knowledge, technical ability, and trade experience required for the position. Candidates who do not have substantial industrial electrical experience or are unable to demonstrate Journeyperson level knowledge through the assessment will not be considered. Primary Responsibilities Direct and supervise electricians, apprentices, and other field personnel Plan daily work activities and assign crews based on project priorities Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schematics, and one line diagrams Oversee the installation of conduit, cable tray, switchgear, motor controls, instrumentation, lighting systems, grounding systems, and industrial electrical equipment Coordinate electrical work with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and other trades Monitor labor productivity, materials, equipment, schedules, and project progress Ensure work complies with the National Electrical Code, project specifications, safety requirements, and company standards Conduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures Identify potential delays, conflicts, and material shortages and promptly communicate them to project management Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance before requesting formal inspection Maintain accurate daily reports, workforce records, and project documentation Assist with employee training, performance management, and corrective action when necessary Minimum Qualifications Extensive industrial electrical construction experience is required Previous experience supervising electrical crews is required Journeyperson level electrical knowledge and demonstrated trade competency are required Successful completion of the company's Journeyperson electrical assessment is required Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, equipment, installation methods, and applicable codes Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, schematics, and project schedules Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem solving skills Ability to manage multiple crews and work priorities in a fast paced industrial environment Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and professional conduct Valid driver's license/insurable driving record and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications State electrical certification or recognized Journeyperson credentials OSHA 30 certification Experience with industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, energy projects, water treatment facilities, or similar environments Experience with medium voltage systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and process equipment Schedule and Work Location This position requires regular jobsite attendance. The successful candidate must be available to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts when required by project schedules. Compensation Compensation will be based on verified experience, qualifications, assessment results, and the requirements of the assigned project.
