Lead complex projects. Bring real dewatering expertise. Cavanaugh Construction is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Project Manager with proven, hands-on construction dewatering experience to join our team. Construction dewatering experience is a required qualification for this position. We are specifically looking for a Project Manager who understands the challenges of groundwater conditions and has successfully managed residential construction projects involving dewatering systems and operations. This role requires someone who can lead a project from planning through closeout while confidently managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, documentation, site coordination, and the unique complexities associated with construction below the groundwater table. What You'll Do Lead and coordinate all phases of high-end residential construction projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction dewatering activities and operations Work with dewatering contractors, engineers, consultants, and field personnel to coordinate dewatering requirements with the overall construction schedule Understand groundwater conditions and how dewatering activities impact excavation, foundations, below-grade construction, site logistics, and project sequencing Monitor dewatering operations and proactively address issues that could affect schedule, cost, safety, or construction activities Coordinate dewatering activities with excavation, shoring, utilities, foundations, waterproofing, and other site operations Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and milestones Manage subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, consultants, and field teams Manage contracts and monitor subcontractor scope, performance, schedule, and compliance Utilize JobTread, Buildertrend, or comparable construction management software for project tracking, documentation, scheduling, and communication Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, safety, progress, and compliance with project requirements Read and interpret blueprints, civil plans, construction drawings, schematics, and 3D models Manage RFIs, change orders, daily reports, schedules, project documentation, and closeout requirements Identify potential challenges early and develop solutions before they impact the project Maintain clear communication among clients, subcontractors, designers, engineers, consultants, and field personnel Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget while maintaining exceptional standards for quality and execution Required Experience & Qualifications Dewatering experience is required. Applicants without construction dewatering experience will not be considered for this position.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven, hands-on experience managing construction dewatering operations Demonstrated knowledge of groundwater management as it relates to excavation and below-grade construction Experience coordinating dewatering with excavation, shoring, foundations, utilities, waterproofing, and other construction activities Proven experience managing residential construction projects from start to finish Extensive field/site experience in residential construction Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, and coordination Experience with JobTread, Buildertrend, or similar construction management software Ability to confidently read and interpret blueprints, civil plans, schematics, and technical construction drawings Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, contracts, RFIs, and change orders Familiarity with construction safety requirements and regulatory compliance Strong organizational, problem-solving, leadership, and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship Why Cavanaugh Construction?
